LORI RITA
figurative painter.
Artist Statement
American Figurative Artist.
Oil, pastel, charcoal, ink and pencil.
My paintings normally develop from photographs that are personal or taken by me.
I find painting this way to be an ever-changing journey, enjoying the unexpected. It is always thought provoking and I hope that my art inspires a shared experience or message.
Artists I admire are many, in particular Euan Uglow, Richard Diebenkorn, and the artists of the Bay Area Figurative Movement.
I don't see why the hell you shouldn't do what you want...We're artists. We are bogged down by all kinds of things, but we don't have to be bogged down by rules. Everything is new.-Uglow
